Perfect for birthdays, anniversaries, or anyone wanting a more personal connection with nature’s most mysterious flyers, this all-new encounter is hosted in our beautifully designed billabong zone, created specifically to foster calm, awe-inspiring interactions between guests and our most elusive birds.

This is more than a wildlife session—it’s a deeply moving journey into the world of owls and conservation, guided by one of our experienced handlers. Guests will feel the heartbeat of the sanctuary as they learn to handle and fly an owl, witnessing its silent flight up close and discovering its intelligence, trust, and beauty in a truly intimate setting.

Fly an Owl, Discover Their World, and Meet Surprise Avian Guests

Guests begin by learning to fly one of our ambassador owls—an extraordinary opportunity to connect with a nocturnal bird of prey through glove handling, guided movement, and calm, focused communication.

You’ll then enjoy bonus moments with surprise ambassador birds currently in training. These may include a Macaw, Black Cockatoo, Bush-stone Curlew, or even a Brolga, depending on daily readiness. No two sessions are ever the same.

Whether you’re gifting a loved one, celebrating a special milestone, or seeking something rare and meaningful, Wings of Connection delivers an unforgettable, private-feeling moment in nature.

Duration: Allow up to 60 Minutes

Location: Hosted in the sanctuary’s peaceful, purpose-designed Billabong experience zone 

Availability: 10.00am, 11.30am, 1.00pm, 2.30pm, 5.00pm

Days: Thursday to Sunday

Participants per Booking: This experience includes up to three (3) guests

Session format: Two guest groups per session with one professional handler.

Additional guests: $50 per person (limited spaces)

Minimum Age: 7+ years. (Children under 7 years FREE with paying Parental Guardian)

Do we each get to fly the owl individually?

Yes, each participant will have multiple personala turns handling and flying the owl

Is it still intimate with two groups present?

Absolutely. While two small guest groups share each session, our spacious billabong zone allows for private-feeling interactions. The handler ensures everyone has uninterrupted, personal time with the birds.

Do we meet an eagle, hawk, or kite?

No. This encounter focuses on owls and a curated mix of other sanctuary birds aligned with the experience’s peaceful, conservation-based theme.

Can this be booked for a birthday or special gift?

Yes! This experience is perfect for celebrating milestones or surprising a loved one with something extraordinary, gentle, and unforgettable.

Can we book both guest spots to have the entire session to ourselves?

Yes, you may secure exclusive use of the session by booking both guest spots. To do so, simply complete your initial booking and then return to reserve the additional spots for the same time slot.
